ALERTS FOR MILLERSVILLE UNIVERSITY FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENTS

Attention Campus Community:

Thank you for your patience with the hot and humid weather during our first two weeks of school. The unprecedented heat wave coupled with the University’s participation in PJM (Pennsylvania Jersey and Maryland) Demand Response Program caused uncomfortable heat levels across campus.

Although the University is committed to sustainability, we have suspended our participation in this program when classes are in session, as creating and maintaining an acceptable indoor living-learning environment for students, faculty and staff is paramount.

Please note, as the PJM demand response program was created to avoid brown-outs and black-outs throughout the region, we will continue our participation outside of normal class hours and during the summer.

Thankfully, more good news. The Millersville University Weather Center says the heat wave will break tonight.

Again, thank you for your patience.

Thomas Waltz

Assistant Vice President for Facilities

Facilities Management Department

p.s. If you’re hot today, please stop by the lawn next to Gordinier for free ice cream with President Wubah from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s a great way to cool off.
