Hope you like salad with your radishes..
For the final check up, our radish plant on the left is growing excellently, but the lettuce is left in the dust. The nutrients were hanging right under 7.0.
Apparently radishes love air stones and timers. 🙂
After 5 days the plants have regained some strength and some color. Thank goodness. The pH is still resting right about 6.0 so we let it go.
Today we also added a timer and an air stone. We figured the air stone could only do good things for us. The timer is set to 14 hours a day and allows the plants to have some time not flooded in solution, which is good.
The two Mesclun seeds are growing well, seen to the right. Our Radish seed, to the left, is getting a very thick stem, but it is growing a little crooked. We think this is because of how the seed was placed in the rockwool. We just hope the roots are able to stabilize the plant.
Our pH is resting right below 7.
Today we finally got our plants in the system. We may be a little behind, but things are looking good.
After germinating our seeds for 5 days, we planted two Mesclun seeds and one Radish seed. All had roots that had already grown nice and healthy, so I’m sure they’ll have no trouble growing even better in our system. Our pH was around 7 after we put the nutrients in.
The only other edition we need for our system is a timer. Dr. Brusic will be purchasing one for us and bringing it on Thursday to class.
