PSSI is coming to an end and the fall semester begins next week Monday. As the new semester approaches, I will enter into the new semester with new techniques and strategy that I have learned in these five weeks of being in this program. I have also created a plan to reach my goals and be successful during the semester. During study time, I plan to use the Cornell Note-taking strategies, by using this strategy it has helped me understand and reflect on the article I’ve read. Time management is very important so during my free time I will be studying or exploring the campus for organizations to get involved. By staying motivated I will surround myself with positivity and reflect on how far I’ve gone in my journey.
Reflecting on my new reading strategies
While reading Dr. Garcia’s and Dr. Corkery’s class material, I use many reading strategies to help me understand the articles. Firstly, I make sure that I am in a comfortable and quiet workspace. I’ve noticed that when I am in a rowdy or chaotic environment, I am unable to get my work done efficiently.
Note taking Strategies
In Dr. Corkery’s and Dr. Garcia’s class I decided to apply new note-taking strategies such as the Cornell Method and Note-taking while reading. These two methods have helped me get through class and understand the topic I’m learning.
In Dr. Garcia’s class we have to read at least three articles everyday and take notes on the article. Before using the While reading the articles, I would take at least an hour an half to finish reading and take notes on the article.
