On Sept. 10, singer Jon Bon Jovi was filmed helping a woman in crisis while on set for one of his new music videos.

This past week, Bon Jovi was in Nashville, Tennessee filming a music video supposedly for his newest album, “Forever,” when he had to step away from the camera and help a woman in need. The site of his filming, the John Seignthaler Pedestrian Bridge, was open to the public on the day of filming, and security cameras on the bridge caught the singer approaching an unidentified woman who was standing on the ledge of the bridge.

In the footage released, which has since been taken down, by the Nashville Police Department on Sept. 11, Bon Jovi can be seen speaking with the woman standing on the ledge of the bridge for a few moments, before he and another woman helped lift the stranger over the railing of the bridge and carry her a safe distance away.

The singer is no stranger to helping people in crisis. Since 2006, the Jon Bon Jovi (JBJ) Soul Foundation has helped fight against homelessness, poverty, and hunger by providing food, affordable housing, and job training programs among other services to people in need.

According to the JBJ Soul Foundation website, their goal is to, “recognize and maximalize the human potential in those affected by hunger, poverty, and homelessness.”

Alongside his efforts to help those in need, Bon Jovi was also recognized as the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year for his good doing and philanthropy.

After releasing the surveillance footage of what happened on the John Seignthaler Pedestrian Bridge, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department released a statement on X thanking Bon Jovi and his team for helping the woman in her time of need.

“It takes all of us to help keep each other safe,” says Metropolitan Nashville Police Department Chief, John Drake.
