i can really describe how it was like taking notes, in Dr,Garcia class because he has the notes on the broad. i did try to used visual note taking in Dr, corkery class, my experience with visual note taking was fun, because i draw nice little stick figures that represented Ruth’s James mother in the color of water. i feel like the most successful note taking skill for me will have to be outlining.
reflectin
I didn’t really used the reading strategies, because in Dr.Garcia, In his class you really head to read almost everything to do well on his test. and Dr. corckey we didn’t reall read anything but do a project. but I did consider the environment and the music.
what worked for me was before you read, pose question and review. the others where just plan no help
I like the before you read one, and I’m going to keep using it because I feel like when you find the prefect place and have you music playing, you all in the reading no distraction.
I need to learn to actually review my papers before I submitted it because simple error could make or break your writing. also it wont be bad to get in the habit of asking questions as I read. cuz when you do, you get the a deeper understanding of everything
Revisit:
I have realized that taking notes on the side of the reading really help you get a deeper understanding of the topic. for example when I was reading the article ” bothers wife”. in that article I took notes and I actually got a 100 on the quiz. in Dr.Corkery when we read the books, we usually write about what we get from the passages.
Langauge
learning a language was not only difficult, but time consuming. I came from Haiti to the united states 9 years ago. a country with a completely different language and it’s of rules, from my main language. it was a struggle and a uphill battle to applied myself first to them book to learn. so I stared school not knowing a single word, so I had to take ESL( English as a second Language). So some strategies I had to applied to my everyday life were reading, communicating, and lots and lots of vocabulary tests. so reading, they made us read a bunch of 1st grade level books in ESL, now that I looked back and realized I came a long way. communicating, was the most challenging part, because the English had a set of rule that were complex to creole( a French based language). but you know what they say, “practice makes prefect. day after day I would force myself to communicate with different people, but it wasn’t a easy tasks cause I was a very timid. So I had to first practice my words on my sister rose who help me the most. after many years of testing in ESL I was finally free from learning. on the first day of freshman year of high school, I was no longer a in the class
