Student Conduct, More Than Discipline

In 2018, the Office Judicial Affairs changed their name to Student Conduct & Community Standards, better aligning with the goals and learning outcomes moving beyond adjudication of student discipline cases.  This fall, SCCS continued to build upon students understanding of Community Standards at Millersville University through educational presentations, sanctioning, and programs.

Ville Commitment to Community Health

In response to the public health guidelines, Student Conduct & Community Standards instituted an educational sanction for those found responsible for the violating public health and safety guidelines. Ville Commitment to Community Health is a 30-minute presentation and follow-up quiz discussing the importance of wearing a mask and working together as a community to keep each other healthy and safe. Throughout the fall semester, 54 of the 87 individuals found responsible for the violation were assigned to attend the presentation.

Decision Days 2021

Students typically find themselves in the conduct process as a result of their decision making. Knowing that decisions under pressure and when faced with peer and other pressures, the purpose of Decision Days has been to give students the skills they need to process through decisions they will face while they are in college and as they transition into their careers.

  • 23 Students participated in four Decision Making events throughout the week. Sessions included:
    • Happier and Healthy Me presented by Wellness Advocates
    • Choices: An Exercise in Decision Making presented by Student Conduct & Community Standards
    • Problem Solving and Communication by Campus Recreation
