VP Hazlett’s September Message

Although we are no strangers to uncertainty amidst the ever-evolving challenges of COVID-19, the excitement and energy of our students encourages me. Even through the chaos of the past year, the resiliency and tenacity of our students, staff, and faculty, and our ability to come together as a community in the face of adversity has remained constant. As our Director of Student Access and Support Services (SASS), Darlene Newman, often says, “It takes a ‘Ville-age.”

As we make our return to campus, we will keep safety our priority. The SAEM ‘Ville-age will continue to care for our entire community through our practices, our choices, and our desire to maintain positivity throughout the many twists and turns of this pandemic. By acting from a place of compassion, we will move forward.

Despite the uncertainty of the Delta and possibly future variants, we can still celebrate that our students are once again filling classrooms and engaging in face-to-face learning. We can still celebrate the comradery, enthusiasm, and excitement that has returned to campus. These factors contribute to making Millersville the rich learning environment that it is.

I am personally looking forward to a fall semester full of classic Millersville activities and events that our community knows and loves, and I am so glad to be sharing in them with all of you. Thank you for your commitment and perseverance. Each and every one of you is an integral part of our ‘Ville-age.
