A reminder from Title IX & upcoming events

Welcome home to the ‘Ville!  My name is Elizabeth Swantek (she|her) and I serve as your Title IX Coordinator. I am responsible for the university’s compliance with Title IX, a federal law that protects people from discrimination based on sex/gender in education programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.

We each play a role in ensuring Millersville University is a welcoming environment. Sexual misconduct—including sexual assault, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking—is inconsistent with Millersville’s EPPIIC values and is not tolerated in our community. The Title IX Office plays a vital role in providing resources and support to those participating in the Title IX process.  One a report is received, we are also responsible to stop the issue from occurring, prevent the reoccurrence, and remedy the effects.

Millersville University community members are encouraged to report incidents of sexual and gender-based harassment, misconduct, and violence to the Title IX Office. There are confidential and anonymous reporting options available. Reporting will not change you because of what you may have experienced, but it may help prevent it from happening to someone else.

Together, we can take a stand to be a part of a community in which all members feel respected and included. Visit the Title IX webpage to learn more about Millersville’s Title IX Office.

Kind Regards,

Elizabeth Swantek (she|her)
Title IX Coordinator
