VP Hazlett’s September Update

A community is a group of individuals with a shared set of values, a sense of belonging, and support among its members. In SAEM, our sense of community is centered around our EPPIIC values, our mission to graduate every student, and our commitment to each other.

This sense of community has always been important to us but it has never been more important than it is right now. As your VP, I am asking each of you to think deeply about the implied social contract that is part of the common bond that holds our SAEM community together. I’m asking you to think about self-care and care for your community. We have a commitment to hold each other accountable and to do everything in our power to keep each other safe and give our students the best semester possible during this pandemic.

We have a choice to look at our current situation as an opportunity. An opportunity to make SAEM stronger, to act with compassion, and to teach our students valuable lessons about the power that comes from community.

Please continue to help SAEM tell our story! Submit your office updates here.
