MU To Go: Take What You Need, Leave When You Want

The MU Admissions Office and the Office of Orientation and Transition Programs launched the first of several “MU To-Go” events on Friday, May 15. The intent of the program is to provide incoming students with the opportunity for ‘hands-on’ assistance in completing some of the transactional requirements of getting ready for their MU experience.

Students and family members may choose from several sessions including those on logging in to MU accounts, understanding degree requirements, reviewing financial aid, and managing their money. The event also provides programming specifically for supporting family members including a session on “Managing the Transition” presented by faculty in the Center for Counseling and Human Development. Incoming transfer students can meet with a counselor to discuss their transfer credits or better understand how to audit their current degree progress.

There are seven events in total this summer, being held from May through August. The “Come when you can, take what you need, leave when you want” philosophy of the program encourages students and family members to participate throughout the summer as the sessions become relevant to their needs. Many campus offices are involved in addition to those previously mentioned, including: the Registrar’s Office, the Department of Academic Advising and Student Development, PSECU, Housing and Residential Programs, The Honors College, the Department of Campus Life, and Student Financial Services.
