The Merrick Fund Foundation

The Merrick Fund Foundation was established September 1, 2007
We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization helping animal rescues and shelters save lives in central Pennsylvania. 100% of your gift helps sick and injured adoptable animals with medical care expenses because all administrative costs are paid by the Directors.

Merrick, a yellow Labrador retriever abandoned without food or water didn’t know much of human kindness. When Merrick was found in Lower Paxton Township in June 2006, he had an open tumor on his side that was infested with bees. After being held for 18 hours, he died the next day as he was being transported to a veterinarian. Merrick’s story so moved two local women that they were inspired to start The Merrick Fund Foundation so the suffering that Merrick endured is not repeated.
