At Family Promise of Berks County, we believe in keeping families together and youth off the streets while providing hope, a new beginning and opportunities for change.
Our unique model recognizes that maintaining family units increases successful outcomes. The latter allows for couples and single parent households to remain with their children while being sheltered versus being separated by gender. An average week at Family Promise of Berks serves 3 families and 5 youth while providing families with 168 meals and 84 bed nights. The volunteers we work with typically spend 274 hours a week providing these services while case managers work with families to support them in gaining independence.
