This is a part-time position – Monday and Tuesday (16 hours)


The office assistant is responsible for the functioning of the Lancaster office 2 days a week, undertaking regular duties and special projects which pertain to overall office management.


Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International

Operation of Lancaster Office

Answer and direct all incoming calls, greet and host visitors, sort and deliver mail, host Pathways guests

Respond to inquiries via email, mail, and phone

Maintain office work environment: maintain clean conference rooms and post daily schedules, ensure common areas are tidy and kitchen well-stocked, lock doors each evening

Assist employees with office systems: conference line use, conference room booking, mailing questions/needs (USPS, FedEx, etc.)

Maintain relationship with office supply company: make weekly orders of office supplies, keep the office supply closet and mailing station well stocked

Innovate team and culture building activities: lunch & learns, optional fun gatherings and birthday celebrations

Departmental Support

Provide support to the COO, as well as the administration team

Maintain COO’s calendar: respond to calendar requests and initiate requests as needed

Support HR, marketing, and president’s office requests including food ordering, mailing projects, board meetings and HR interviews

Special Projects

Take on special projects as available in areas such as but not limited to organizational event planning

Able to identify viable solutions to challenges

Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands/multiple deadlines

High attention to detail

Excellent project management skills

Excellent oral and written skills

Ability to respond quickly and accurately to staff and guests

Fluency with Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite (Excel and Word, specifically), ability to navigate and research online

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
