The global learning & development (L&D) specialist will design, curate, deploy, facilitate, and evaluate online and in-person learning programs for global HOPE staff.

As part of a growing L&D team, the global L&D specialist will design, curate, deploy, facilitate, and evaluate online and in-person learning opportunities for global HOPE staff using best practices in adult learning theory. These learning opportunities, with strong emphasis on practice and application of skills and knowledge gained, form a critical component of our holistic staff development model. Additionally, this role is responsible for the overall administration and maintenance of the learning management system, ensuring that all learners have an effective and positive experience.
Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision.
Develop HOPE-specific, engaging, and effective learning programs to meet employee needs and advance HOPE International’s mission.
Facilitate creative, responsive, engaging, and meaningful learning events.
Collaborate with HOPE subject matter experts to design and manage interactive e-learning courses.
Promote, maintain, and troubleshoot content in HOPE International’s learning management system, ensuring that employees are getting the most benefit from the platform; establish and implement regular schedule of new online course offerings.
Support and engage learning champions at each program in the HOPE network.
Create, organize, and deliver a successful onboarding process and experience, including HOPE’s quarterly orientation day, for new HOPE International employees in the US.
Evaluate effectiveness of online and in-person learning programs and tools.
Assess and report on holistic outcomes of staff learning and development initiatives in coordination with HR Associate.
Assist with assessment of learning and development needs throughout the HOPE network.
Engage in collaborative partnerships with external training and professional development organizations.
Suggest opportunities for new ways to support holistic employee development at HOPE.
Continue to research, learn, and implement best practices in the field of learning and development.
Contribute to new initiatives as needed.
Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.
True excitement for learning and holistic development and helping others learn and develop.
5+ years of relevant work experience with increasing leadership in areas such as learning and development, adult education, training, instructional design, and/or LMS administration.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an education-related field. Additional training in instructional design and/or business can be beneficial.
Familiarity with principles of adult learning and best practices in learning-centered design.
Demonstrated in-person and virtual facilitation skills including advanced preparation, clear communication, learner engagement, active listening, and time management.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills. Experience using project management, learning content authoring, virtual classroom and web conferencing software preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with employees across the organization, locally and remotely, across cultures, and with external stakeholders.
Comfort with change and ambiguity.
Foreign language fluency in French a plus.
