Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking a proactive and innovative Director of Information Technology. This is a terrific opportunity for an IT professional who wants to make a significant, positive impact on our organization and the Residents and Team Members we serve. 

The Director of Information Technology serves as the organization’s Chief Technology Officer and a key member of the Brethren Village leadership team.  The Director provides strategic planning, leadership and oversight, and coordination for all Information Technology services at Brethren Village, and will supervise a small team of talented IT professionals. 

The Director of IT will:

  • oversee all computer and phone systems at Brethren Village, and manage and coordinate all technology-related services; provide expert consultation and planning with respect to all Information Technology functions, systems, and services
  • support our 1,200 Residents and 480 Team Members with their technology needs, ensuring a professional level of service and timely responses
  • ensure the integrity and security of all Brethren Village IT systems; maintain and enhance the disaster recovery plan; recommend best-practices with respect to data security
  • lead complex technology-related projects, and proactively recommend innovative ways to use technology to enhance delivery of healthcare and other services, improve efficiency and the “customer” experience, and help control costs

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed to fulfill responsibilities. 
  • The Director of Information Technology will be accessible by phone and respond to after-hours (evenings, weekends) issues on occasion.
Requirements
  • a Bachelor’s degree or professional certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Administration, IT Security, or a related field
  • at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in Information Technology, including systems administration
  • prior supervisory experience, and prior experience managing a department or function and budgets
  • practical experience ensuring the security of data and systems
  • proven ability to think strategically and recommend innovative solutions; demonstrated ability to use technology to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and to help control costs
  • a record of planning and leading complex projects
  • the ability and willingness to interact in a professional and friendly manner with colleagues, our older adult Residents, and vendors
  • the ability to provide exceptional service to others
  • ability and willingness to represent Brethren Village and carry out responsibilities in a manner aligned with our core values of caring, integrity, stewardship, and excellence
  • willingness to serve on-call and respond to occasional, after-hours urgent systems / technology-related situations
