Position Summary
ASSETS is a dynamic, growing organization focused on helping diverse, innovative, and socially-focused entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. In 2015, ASSETS started a microfinance lending program and became a certified Community Development Financial Institution and an SBA Microlending Intermediary in 2017. Since inception of Microfinance lending Program, ASSETS has seen an increase in requests for financing and training.
This position will help to provide support to our Community Lending initiatives, potential borrowers, and current borrowers by serving as the point of contact for loan leads and client engagement. In addition, this position will lead counseling and training efforts as well as ensuring long-term sustainability of the Community Lending program. The position is in office Monday-Friday from 9 am – 5 pm with occasional early mornings, nights, and weekends to meet client needs, facilitate training workshops, or represent ASSETS at networking functions. Occasionally travel may be required, but rarely needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Loan Officer
•⠀ Serve as an advocate of ASSETS and microenterprise activity in Central PA
•⠀ Promote the community lending products and programs to our target audience through networking events and other opportunities in the community.
•⠀ Promote the community lending products to all Entrepreneur Training clients through attendance at training programs and by ensuring that all training staff have necessary information to promote the products.
•⠀ Serve as point of contact for individuals wishing to receive loans – gather all documents required for underwriting and ensure all documents are signed properly at loan closings.
•⠀ Provide business counseling and financial counseling for clients.
Marketing
•⠀ Support marketing activities by providing accurate and timely program information, client data, and inspirational client stories.
Compliance
•⠀ Ensure data is collected and entered accurately and in a timely manner.
•⠀ Attend trainings and regular update calls to ensure that ASSETS is in compliance with all funding regulations – which may include travel
General
•⠀ Produce weekly reports
•⠀ Support of ASSETS initiatives as assigned
•⠀ The successful candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to economic equity and the collaborative approach to addressing the issues and needs of women and people of color entrepreneurs as well as of the general community challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
•⠀ Commitment to the mission and programs of ASSETS.
•⠀ Extremely Detail Oriented.
•⠀ Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance, or relevant professional experience preferred.
•⠀ Proficient business acumen
•⠀ Credit building knowledge
•⠀ Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
•⠀ Comfortable with minimal supervision.
•⠀ Driven by deadlines and routines.
•⠀ Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Working conditions
The ASSETS is an office-based organization. You may share a room with other staff, or even work in a large area alone. The work can be challenging at times with responsibilities for meeting targets and deadlines. Dress can be business casual to professional depending upon occasion. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
