Lancaster Bar Association/Lancaster Law Foundation
The Lancaster Bar Association is the County’s professional association for over 750 attorneys, judges, and legal professionals. We run educational programming and promote public understanding of the justice system. We also publish the Lancaster Law Review, the County’s weekly legal periodical, which contains legal ads and public notices.
The Lancaster Bar Association is looking for an experienced bookkeeper for the Lancaster Bar Association and the Lancaster Law Foundation and a team-spirited coworker to manage the legal journal.
Job Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
- Accounts payable and receivables
- Billing and processing payments
- Reconciliation of bank statements and preparation of financial statements
Managing Editor of the Lancaster Law Review
- Publish weekly Law Review
- Process and format incoming notices for inclusion in Law Review
- Proofread content for accuracy
- Handle questions and inquiries from parties wishing to publish legal notices
- Work with outside printer to ensure that weekly edition is sent timely
- Engage vendors to publish commercial ads in the Law Review
Qualifications/Requirements
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to proofread with accuracy
- Strong attention to detail, great organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to work both independently and as a team
- A friendly, patient customer-service demeanor
Education/Training/Experience
- Associates Degree/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- QuickBooks experience required
- Legal experience preferred
- In Design experience a plus
- Nonprofit experience helpful
Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
