Annual Giving and Volunteer Engagement Manager

The Annual Giving and Volunteer Engagement Manager is an integral part of the overall team charged with advancing the mission of Lancaster Catholic High School.

The Office of Advancement is directly responsible for the following areas:

  • Non-Revenue: Communications/Public Relations o Constituent Relations & Related Events, Volunteer Engagement & Management, Strategic Planning, Prospect Research, Stewardship, Enrollment Management & Marketing
  • Revenue: Special Events, Annual Giving, Major Gifts, Capital Campaigns and Planned Giving

As a member of the Advancement team, this individual will work in tandem with all other staff to achieve program goals. The Annual Giving and Volunteer Manager will handle a wide range of administrative and support related tasks, and must be able to work both with a team and independently with little supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, dependable and enjoy the challenges of working in a fast-paced, campaign-oriented environment.

Reporting to the Director of Advancement and President, The Annual Giving and Volunteer Manager:

  • Develops annual giving communication/solicitation materials including but not limited to: Lancaster Catholic Fund solicitation letter, Christmas letter, Crusader Fund, Fine & Performing Arts
  • Organizes, conducts and manages the annual Phonathon to meet revenue targets.
  • Coordinates/conducts meetings with assigned donors/prospects.
  • Analyzes and develops plan to expand matching gift program.
  • Uses Advancement database to identify ideal donors for annual giving opportunities.
  • Maximizes gift revenue from individual donors with particular responsibility for Tax Credit and Business Alliance Program revenue goals.
  • Coordinates and engages alumni, parent and student volunteers to assist with Advancement activities and events.
  • Actively “stewards” annual gifts.
  • Assists with generation of Annual Report to properly identify and thank donors.
  • Develops and implements strategies and tactics to increase annual giving revenue and participation rates.
  • Constructs and manages successful outreach activities which increase engagement by volunteers in support of Advancement events/programs.
  • Recruits, trains and supervises and schedules all advancement volunteers and provides direction, coordination, and consultation for volunteers
  • Creates/maintains comprehensive school volunteer catalog
  • Maintains current/accurate Volunteer Service Descriptions for each volunteer assignment and schedule of opportunities
  • Ensure volunteers are staffed to support the various areas of school operations as directed

In addition, the Advancement Annual Giving and Volunteer Engagement Manager will assist with both revenue and non-revenue events and projects of the Office of Advancement, as well as other tasks as assigned.


  • Ability to work within Advancement database to data-mine and generate various reports.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in non-profit development/fund raising revenue generation
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with volunteers.
  • Ability to organize and establish multiple priorities effectively.
  • A working style that is self-directed and aligned with our fast-paced environment.
  • Strong self-motivation and a team player interpersonal style.
  • Ability to effectively articulate the mission of Lancaster Catholic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Presentation Software and Advancement Software (or comparable fundraising software).


  • 3-5 years experience in non-profit revenue generation and volunteer management position(s).
  • Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic education.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals.
  • Ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Superior communication skills, ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plans, the ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, trustees, school administration and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of data management computers/software, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the Internet.
  • Experience in a parochial or not-for-profit environment strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
