The Factory Ministries
The Factory Ministries, is a faith-based social service agency that is committed to serving
people facing issues of poverty within Eastern Lancaster County. A hub connecting people to
resources, we reduce poverty in Lancaster County by walking alongside the under-resourced
and empowering them with tools to rise above their circumstances. Practically, The Factory
gets food into the homes of the hungry, connects the lonely to friendship and community, and
brings the hopeless the hope of Jesus. We believe that everyone’s journey matters, and
through a relational approach, help people overcome their circumstances and create a new
future story.
We are hiring a full-time Adult Advocate to walk alongside adults experiencing situational
and/or chronic poverty for the purpose of long-term sustainability. Looking beyond just
financial poverty, the Advocate meets with participants to establish their future story, make
goals, create new networks of healthy relationships, and learn new concepts. This position is
ideal for individuals who love people, thrive in collaboration, and possess strong
communication skills, a steady presence in crisis, and the discipline to manage systems—all
fueled by a deep motivation to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing poverty.
Adult Advocate Position Qualifications:
- Relationally driven, with a deep love for people.
- Experience with and/or understanding of poverty culture. Education in social work or
related fields is preferred.
- Ability to navigate moments of crisis in ways that are calm and empowering.
- Commitment to excellence and the discipline to develop and maintain organizational
systems, ensuring that all case notes and data are thorough, accurate, and timely.
- A positive, humble, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude
