Administers medication, provides direct care, and oversees daily service delivery in Personal Care, including coordination of dining services, direct care, and life enrichment. Prepares, administers and documents medications and treatments in records’ progress notes, vital signs, etc. Processes and accurately transcribes physician orders, notifies pharmacy of changes in medication or needed refills, ensures labs are scheduled, assists with admissions, discharges by communicating order to MD for approval, prepares medicine packets, reviews discharge items, reviews upcoming resident appointments. Reports changes in residents’ condition to PCHA, MD and family per protocols. Promptly answers resident call bells, assists transport residents, and in bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, bed making, tray service, etc. Maintains all applicable regulations, standards of UZRC policies, and the fulfillment of duty of care obligations. Has supervision of personal care aide.
Qualifications: Must have high school diploma or GED, knowledge of DHS regulations helpful, must be a minimum of 18-years of age, and ability to speak, write, do arithmetic in English. Ability to work under time limits, adapt to change, be mentally alert and accurate in measurement, must be flexible, caring, and able to work well with team members. Medical Technician and CPR Certifications required. Uses resident assist devices, scales, wheelchairs, bed full mechanical lift, blood pressure apparatus, stethoscope, thermometer, glucometer, gait belt, and pulse oximetry is essential.
Required Experience: Two years in similar role or specialized training and minimum of one year in supervisory role.
Compensation Eligibility: Eligible for 2nd Shift and Weekend Differentials.
