Meets the nutritional and therapeutic needs of all residents through the delivery of attractive and palatable meals to all residents of UZRC. In addition, this requires a broad knowledge of the facts, principles and procedures involved in the selection, purchase, preservation, and serving of food as well as the consistent ability to orchestrate food production with consistent results on a meal-by-meal basis while maintaining compliance with all serve-safe, HAACP, infection control, and other pertinent regulatory guidelines to assist in meeting the duty of care obligations with UZRC residents. Handles and serves food in accordance with sanitary regulations, State Department of Health, County Department of Health, and Department of Public Welfare.
Qualifications: Must have high school diploma or GED, be a minimum of 18 years of age, ability to speak, write, do arithmetic in English. Ability to work under time limits, adapt to change, be mentally alert and accurate in measurement, must be flexible, caring, and able to work well with team members. Must have demonstrated knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation standards, Serve-Safe standards, HAACP standards and infection control. Preferred experience: minimum 2 years in institutional food production, and in institutional cooking and 1 in a supervisory role.
Compensation & Benefit Eligibility: 2nd shift differential. Excellent benefits beginning the first of the month after completing 30 days of employment.
