John Frederick Steinman Foundation

Each year, one or more fellowships may be awarded by the Fellowship Committee of the John Frederick Steinman Foundation to qualified persons seeking advanced study in the fields of psychiatry, psychology or social work. The fellowships may be renewed for a second year by the trustees upon review of evidence of progress by the fellow in the course of study for which the fellowship was granted.

Lampeter-Strasburg Educational Foundation

The Lampeter-Strasburg Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization designed exclusively to provide financial assistance to graduates of Lampeter-Strasburg High School who continue their education at an institution of higher learning. All donations are tax deductible.

In 1994, a committee of community volunteers met to establish a permanent organization which would have but one goal – to help worthy graduates of L-S pursue their dreams of higher education. The Lampeter-Strasburg Educational Foundation was founded. Funds were solicited throughout the community, and over $126,000 was raised initially to be granted as loans to our graduates. In recent years, the Foundation has also received donations to be used as scholarships.

Lancaster Building Industry Foundation

In 1993, the members of the Building Industry Association of Lancaster County created the Lancaster Building Industry Foundation by which to make charitable contributions in the areas of education, research and affordable housing.

Help the Foundation to fulfill its mission “to provide, by means of charitable giving, community based opportunities, education and service related to the building industry.”

  • SCHOLARSHIPS – through the Lancaster Building Industry Foundation are you able to help underwrite scholarships for individuals studying in areas related to the building industry. The Foundation also provides grants to the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center, the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and other institutions educating these students. Not only does this benefit the students themselves, but it also helps ensure that the industry has a steady stream of well-trained employees.
  • GRANTS – the Lancaster Building Industry Foundation also is committed to providing grants to non-profit organizations, building trade technologies, schools, and community centered programs.

The Lancaster Building Industry Foundation was incorporated as a federal 501c3 tax-exempt organization in 1995. All contributions made to the Foundation are tax-deductible. Most Recent Contributions include:

$15,000 contribution to Lancaster’s Hands-on House Children’s Museum for a new construction themed exhibit.

$2,500 to the School District of Lancaster and the Edible Classroom for a shade pavilion that will be used in their outdoor learning curriculum.

$11,000 in  scholarships to  2019 high school graduates. These 7 merit worthy students are pursuing secondary education in the construction trades; the Lancaster Building Industry Foundation is honored to provide funds that will ensure a viable workforce for the future.

$2,500 Grant to the Good Samaritan Shelter for a much needed bathroom renovation

$15,000 in scholarships to 2018 high school graduates.

$2,500 Grant to Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity’s Home Renovator’s Tour

SACA TecCentro Work Benches! The Lancaster Building Industry Foundation helped SACA’s Tec Centro bring employment and career development services into the Lancaster community!

McCaskey Tech-Ed Tool Belts The Foundation is also donating tools and specialized tool belts to McCaskey Tech-Ed students. Students involved in the 573 New Holland Avenue renovation project work on-site to renovate the house as the afternoon part of their daily curriculum. This hands on, real life construction experience benefits the students, the school and the community!

Lancaster County Community Foundation

The Lancaster County Community Foundation helps people who love Lancaster County invest in the future of our community. Since 1924, we have worked with people to help support causes they care about across Lancaster County. Today, we steward more than $140 million in community assets that help support Lancaster every year. Lancaster Education Foundation

The Lancaster Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting teaching excellence and student success in the School District of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We achieve our mission by providing enrichment opportunities for students and teachers, engaging the community in ways to partner with the District, leveraging resources, and being an advocate for public education.

The Foundation also raises money for and funds Venture Grants. Through the Venture Grant program, teachers may apply for funds to put innovative ideas into practice. These grants are effective because they put funds directly into the classroom. Since 2001, over $800,000 has been provided to teachers though these grants which are funded through donations from area business partners participating in the Pennsylvania Educational Investment Tax Credit (EITC) program and individual gifts.

The Foundation also manages resources for more than 50 scholarships, given annually to District students. These scholarships have been established either by a bequest or by individuals and families to honor a particular person. Click here for a full list of scholarship opportunities.
