Susquehanna Heritage

Susquehanna Heritage is one of 12 Heritage Areas across Pennsylvania with a focus on the Susquehanna River and the Riverlands shared by Lancaster and York Counties. We work with other organizations to enhance the quality & appeal of the Susquehanna Riverlands to increase the visibility of the river as a visitor destination. We welcome visitors at the Zimmerman Center and Columbia Crossing River Trails Center. Both locations offer visitor information, maps & guides, and programming specific to the culture and heritage of our region and on the themes of the National Park Service Captain John Smith National Historic Trail. The Zimmerman Center is designated as an official Visitor Contact & Passport Station for the Captain John Smith Trail. Columbia Crossing River Trails Center is located in Columbia River Park at the southern trailhead for the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail. Both locations offer public river access and outdoor recreation opportunities!
