Rebuilding Together – Greater Harrisburg

Since December 1994, Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg (formerly Christmas in April) has been providing free home repair and modification services to our low-income homeowners, such as the elderly, disabled, families with children and veterans of war living in Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry and upper York counties. Our goal is to make a sustainable impact and preserve affordable homeownership.

Values

We are committed to helping distressed communities and homeowners who live near the federal poverty guideline. We respect the integrity, strengths, and assets of all people.

We are a safe and healthy housing organization with a strong volunteer engagement platform.

We value collaboration with other groups who share similar goals.

We believe in the quality of the planning, delivery, and evaluation of our services.

We believe in inclusivity and seek to promote a diversity that is reflective of our communities.

We make this impact through providing necessary repairs free of charge to existing homeowners. These necessary repairs often include home modifications, roofing, plumbing, and electrical repairs and/or improvements – our goal is to provide a warm, safe and dry environment for low-income homeowners, enabling them to live independently and with dignity.
