Did you know that each summer, Millersville professors and other professors from PASSHE schools head down to the Chincoteague Bay Field Station (@cbfieldstation) in Wallops Island, Virginia, to teach courses in the field? <br /> <br /> This year, we accompanied conservation biologist and professor Dr. Aaron Haines and behavior ecologist, professor and department chair Dr. Brent Horton on some of their field experiences with students. Together, we went on hikes, observed the famous ponies, hunted for ghost crabs, and went trawling to observe and document marine life, up close and in person. <br /> <br /> Field experiences like these are paramount for up-and-coming scientists to get a feel for what this work can really be like - including wearing long sleeves and a full-body mesh suit to protect themselves from biting mosquitos in 90 to 100 degree heat! <br /> <br /> Biology grads: did you ever take a course at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station?
