ADOPT RETIRED LAB RATS: Are you looking for your very own Little Chef??

We’re currently looking for homes for five Long-Evans rats that were subjects in a behavioral study in a psychology class. These rat-tastic creatures are social animals and thrive the most when adopted in pairs or groups. After finishing up their work in the classroom, they’re ready for retirement – and there’s no adoption fee!

There is, however, an application and screening process. Dr. Kelly Banna, associate professor in the psychology department says, “They were used in very basic positive reinforcement projects for my lab class. They were group housed in a large, enriched cage for about 12 h/day throughout the semester, so they are all friendly with one another and are highly active and social.”

All of the rats are female, about five months old and intact (i.e., not spayed.) They are available as:

🐁 🐁 One pair (siblings)
🐁 🐁 🐁 One trio (also siblings)

To learn more or apply for adoption, click on the link in our bio or our stories!
