Millersville’s student-run investment portfolio allows students to gain hands-on experience working with the stock market.
Today’s #MarauderMonday is Elizabeth Wicht!<br /> <br /> Elizabeth is a recent graduate from Lititz, PA, with a degree in Media Arts Production and a minor in Marketing. Elizabeth chose to attend Millersville to follow in the footsteps of her family members who made MU their home. “The first time I took a tour of campus, it felt like home. Like I could spend the next four years of my life here,” she says.<br /> <br /> In addition to her studies, Elizabeth serves as the vice president of operations for MUTV and is the co-producer for their sports broadcast show, In the Zone. Elizabeth also serves as the president of the John Newman Association, secretary for Millersville’s Student Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) chapter, and is a member of the Broadcast Education Association. “Millersville’s media clubs specifically have made my experience here one to remember,” she says. “I love what I do outside the classroom as I am surrounded and supported by some amazing people.”<br /> <br /> Elizabeth’s favorite course so far has been Topics: Cinema Production, taught by Professor James Machado. “The week-long winter course is a masterclass in basic filmmaking with time to experiment and have fun, and I loved every second of it,” she shares.<br /> <br /> Elizabeth’s favorite spot on campus is the Bassler Hall Greenroom, where she has completed countless homework assignments, written scripts, shared lunches, watched movies, laughed, cried, and made some of her fondest memories.<br /> <br /> In her free time, Elizabeth loves to bake and travel. “Baking is a huge part of my family,” she says. “I also worked in a bakery for a few years.” Her favorite baked goods to make include cakes, iced cookies, baklava, and anything involving a blow torch. <br /> <br /> Elizabeth currently works for Kenvue, a consumer healthcare company that manufactures Listerine, Tylenol, Neutrogena, and more. Her role there includes running the Lititz site’s communications department. After graduation, Elizabeth intends to continue her work with Kenvue.<br /> <br /> Elizabeth’s favorite quote comes from Harry S. Truman: "It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit."
