🏆 Hats off to the Millersville team behind the multiple award winning music video, "Jólakötturinn (Icelandic Yule Cat)" filmed in Iceland 🏆 @icelandicyulecat<br /> <br /> You can watch the video by clicking on the link in our bio.<br /> <br /> Students from the Music Business Technology program at Millersville University and a team of talented musicians and filmmakers from In the Wee hours created a spectacular short film to original music written by MU's Dr. Barry Atticks. <br /> <br /> Though you might want to put your hat back on before the Yule Cat finds you. The Yule Cat, a larger-than-life fictional creature from Icelandic folklore, stars as the subject in the music video. The massive, monstrous cat devours children who haven’t received new clothes for Christmas. <br /> <br /> The film is set in Iceland in 1862, as a mother reads a bedtime story to her two daughters by candlelight. Frightened by the tale of the Yule cat, the children fight to evade the nightmarish beast with only the goddess Freya as their guide.<br /> <br /> Atticks states that he “was drawn to the dark and mysterious aspects of the legend,” and adds, “It’s a perfect fit for a horror-themed Christmas short film.”<br /> <br /> "Jólakötturinn (Icelandic Yule Cat)" has won the following awards: <br /> <br /> 🐱 IndieX Fest: Winner of Best Music Video and Best Male Director, awarded in January 2025.<br /> 🐱 Indie Short Fest: Winner of Best Music Video and Best Producer, nominated in Best Original Song, awarded in January 2025.<br /> 🐱 Hollywood Hype Film Festival: Winner of Best Short Film and finalist in Best Music and Lyrics, awarded in December 2024.<br /> 🐱 Zepstone International Film and Music Festival: Winner of Best International Music Video and Best Action/Adventure Short Film, awarded in December 2024.<br /> 🐱 Casablanca Independent Film Festival: Winner of Best Short Film, Best Original Score and Best Producer, Honorable Mention for Best Screenplay, awarded in December 2024. <br /> <br /> #Jólakötturinn #yulecat #millersvilleuniversity#intheweehours #tellschoolofmusic #icelandicyulecat
