Go ‘Ville Robotics!

Millersville’s Robotics Team has submitted their video performance entry to SICK’s TiM$10K Development Program.

The Millersville University Robotics Team has submitted its video performance entry to SICK’s TiM$10K Development Program.

The team was selected as one of just 13 teams in the nation to compete in the TiM$10K challenge. The competition is organized by SICK, one of the most prominent companies for sensor-based applications and sensor intelligence.

“Our team developed a GUI interface to the LUA programming environment called AppStudio which is used for the new TiM LiDAR units,” explains Dr. John Wright, professor of automation and electronics technologies at Millersville. “The GUI allows the practitioner to adjust detection zones from a graphical interface. Our app also identifies the closest object relative to the robot so it may serve as a “Tie-Breaker” when the dual front LM111 LiDARs detects objects via zone-based detection.”
