Millersville Students Shine at Philosophy and Religious Studies Conference

“Natural Science and Hume’s Miracles” takes first place.

Four Millersville University philosophy students recently did a great job presenting their work at the 2019 PASSHE Interdisciplinary Association for Philosophy and Religious Studies conference. Drew Martin, a physics major and philosophy minor at Millersville, was awarded first prize for the best undergraduate paper at the conference.

The students presenting included:

  • Drew M. Martin, “Natural Science and Hume’s Miracles”
  • Jennifer Matthews, “Genetic Manipulation and The Problem Parents Face in their Duty to Protect their Children from Inherited Disorders”
  • Nicholas Fritz, “Morality Kant Be Based on Pure Practical Reason”
  • Katelyn Leach, “Women, Social Media, and the Pressure to be Perfect”

Millersville University accounted for six of the 28 presentations overall and four of 18 student presentations.  The conference was held March 23 at Kutztown University.
