Super Tuesday at the Ville

The Walker Center Fellows announce events for March 1.

Super TuesdayThe Walker Center Fellows, along with the Center for Civic and Community Engagement at Millersville University, will host Super Tuesday on March 1, in the Student Memorial Center (SMC) starting at 7 p.m.  This community wide event will celebrate Super Tuesday’s primary elections with a live result viewing party, music provided by the university radio station WIXQ, political games, activities and food provided by Millersville University Catering and local community eateries.

Flat screen televisions around the SMC and campus will display major news stations for guests to have the ultimate viewing experience.  Millersville University T.V., channel 99, and Radio Station WIXQ, will host a live broadcast during the night.  Guests will have the opportunity to participate in activities hosted by Millersville University organizations, including a photo booth, trivia and pin the tail on the donkey or elephant.  Items from local businesses will be raffled off periodically throughout the event.

This event promotes civic engagement in youth and young adults specifically aimed in empowering their understanding and involvement in a primary presidential election. The Walker Center for Civic Responsibility and Leadership provides student-centered educational and developmental projects and activities. It is premised on the view that through civic education students will be awakened and equipped to become active leaders in civic affair.
