New Officers for MUPD and new songs to download.

New Officers Sworn In

On Tuesday, Dec. 1 two full-time and two part-time patrol officers were sworn into Millersville University’s Police Department. From left to right Ashley Henderson, a MU alumna, Seth Reed, Patrick Rodriguez and John Wostmann.

 

During the swearing in ceremony, Patrick Rodriguez proposed to his girlfriend Allie Coulton. She said “Yes!”

 

 Songs Available Now

Dr. Dennis Denenberg, professor emeritus, hosted the Launching the Dream event in October at the Ware Center.  The event included the debut of original songs by students Zac Terrazas and Liz Fulmer. Fulmer performed “Fighter” and Terrazas performed “Diana’s Dream.” They are both owned by the Millersville University Foundation and are currently available for download.  All proceeds will benefit the Diana’s Dreamers endowment.

Faculty/Staff News

Drs. Persida and William Himmele, both from Early, Middle and Exceptional Education, recently received an award for their work.  The Television, Internet and Video Association of DC (TIVA-DC) awarded the Digital Products team a gold trophy at TIVA-DC’s annual Peer Awards ceremony for the video, “Total Participation Techniques.”  The award was for achievement in the category of “Education/Training (25K and over). Total Participation Techniques is based on the work of the Himmeles and shows teachers across grade levels how to use field-tested strategies to engage all students in deep, meaningful thinking.

Dr. Rich Mehrenberg, Early, Middle and Exceptional Education, had his article, ” Big Bucks, No Whammies: Classroom Management via TV Game Shows?” featured on the  Edutopia website.  Edutopia is an internationally renowned educational resource for K-12 teachers founded by George Lucas.  The article can be read at the following link:
