Millersville University’s sixth annual ComMUnity Fest, an event that connects campus with local businesses, nonprofits and community organizations, will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 9. The free event hosted by the Student Memorial Center is an opportunity for businesses and organizations in attendance to distribute coupons, giveaways, service information and free samples.
In 2025, ComMUnity Fest welcomed 35 vendors and over 600 attendees. The 2026 vendor list includes Tropical Smoothie, Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Tanger Outlets, Uptown Cheapskate, Regal Cinemas, Duck Donuts, Decades Lancaster and more. Attendees can expect live entertainment, food, and fun, all in a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere designed to foster connection and inclusion, according to John Hearn, senior director of operations at the SMC.
“The Student Memorial Center staff is excited to continue this tradition of connecting the Maurader community with the greater Lancaster area,” he says. “We want students to gain awareness of deals at local retailers and resources that are available to them in the area. Our hope is that, as students return, they realize how excited local businesses are to welcome them back, and that they truly begin to feel at home in this community.”
