Robotic WorX Inc. Featured During Sen. Martin Visit

It’s a win-win for the students, the company, and the workforce needed to support the many manufacturing operations across Pennsylvania and beyond, according to President Daniel Wubah.

Sen. Scott Martin ’02 and staff visited Millersville University to learn more about Robotic WorX Inc., a nonprofit that partners the University with Precision Cobotics, LLC of Lititz and allows high school and undergraduate students to address real-world manufacturing problems through automation and robotics. The program links STEM education to careers and helps manufacturers tackle labor and production issues through workforce development and innovative technology development.

Dr. John Haughery ’06, an associate professor in the Department of Applied Engineering and Safety Technology, and John Bridgen of Precision Cobotics led the discussion and tour of the RWI Solutions Lab, where students Sam Woltman and Hecmarys Cintron demonstrated the robotics technology they are using to solve challenges like improving the efficiency of aircraft fuel injection systems for AA Tech in New York. It’s a win-win for the students, the company, and the workforce needed to support the many manufacturing operations across Pennsylvania and beyond, according to President Daniel Wubah.

“For a regional public university, this model is especially powerful,” says Wubah. “It strengthens our ability to serve as a catalyst for economic development while preparing students for high-impact careers in advanced manufacturing, automation and engineering.

“We are grateful to Senator Martin for his continued support of higher education and workforce initiatives across south central Pennsylvania. His visit underscores the importance of sustained investment in partnerships that drive innovation and opportunity.”
