Student Singer/Songwriter to Perform at May 1 First Friday at Ware Center

A Millersville University student and singer/songwriter will perform at the Ware Center for the Arts, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster, during We the People First Friday activities on May 1. Events are open to the public free of charge.

Brahm Bean, a senior music industry major with concentrations in production and live audio, will perform at 6:30 p.m. outside the Ware Center during an evening that includes a community gathering focused on LGBTQ+ Pride and the opening of the exhibit “The Light in the Dark” by Kenston Lafleur.

At 6:30 p.m. in the Binns Room, Lancaster Pride will offer guided creative activities that celebrate Pride and self-expression, kick-starting a collaborative community art piece that will continue at the Lancaster Pride Festival. Guests will experience the power of the arts in fostering community connections and creating safe, welcoming spaces for the LGBTQ+ community.

From 5 to 8 p.m. in the Regitz Gallery, a reception celebrates the opening of the exhibit “The Light in the Dark” by Kenston Lafleur. The young Lancaster native creates acrylic art, figure drawings, stencil paintings, 2D pencil art, mark making, and charcoal portraits that illustrate the depth and breadth of human emotion. The exhibit is on display from May 1 through 29.
