Egg Hunt on March 28 Hosted by Alumni Engagement

“Millersville has always cared about serving the broader community. For the Alumni Office, it reflects our goal of building lifelong relationships, not just with alumni, but with their families as well.”

The Millersville University Office of Alumni Engagement welcomes families in the community to campus for a Family Egg Hunt on March 28. Offering a morning of connection and fun, the event will take place from 10 a.m. – noon at Duncan Alumni House, 205 N. George Street, Millersville.

Designed with young children in mind, this family-friendly event will feature two age-appropriate egg hunts to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Children ages 0–3 will participate in a parent-assisted hunt, while children ages 4–7 will enjoy an independent, yet structured hunt tailored to their age group.

In addition to the egg hunt, families can enjoy photos with Skully, play inflatable ring toss games and take part in other hands-on activities. The Lancaster Public Library’s On-The-Go Library Van will also be on site, giving families the opportunity to register for a library card. Children will also receive take-home tote bags and coloring activities.

Pre-registration is required, and space is limited to 30 children per age group. A $5 per family registration fee will help cover the cost of event supplies and activities.

“As a parent of a two-year-old, I’m always looking for simple, fun weekend activities for our family,” says director of alumni engagement Joshua Belice ’08/’10M. “At some point, I thought, ‘Why not create one ourselves?’ If our family would enjoy something like this, I figured many of our alumni and friends would, too. It felt like a good way to bring families back to campus in a fun way,” he adds.

The Family Egg Hunt reflects the culture and values of both the Alumni Office and the University as a whole. “At its core, this event is about connection,” says Belice.

“Millersville has always cared about serving the broader community, and this is one small but meaningful way to open our campus to families. For the Alumni Office, it reflects our goal of building lifelong relationships, not just with alumni, but with their families as well, and creating traditions that feel welcoming and inclusive.”

The event is part of an initiative to activate campus spaces year-round. The Alumni Office plans to launch a Summer Fun Series that will feature family-friendly events each Thursday from June 6 through July 30 from 6 – 7 p.m. Each evening will feature a local nonprofit leading a short social or educational activity, followed by a family-friendly story time, continuing the focus on building family-centered programming on campus.
