Millersville University graduate Melissa Binz ’94, vice president, head of development and chief medical officer, digital and technology at GSK, was named to the list of the Top 50 Women Leaders of New Jersey in October. The list was created by Women We Admire, a membership organization comprised of some of the most accomplished women executives and leaders across the United States and Canada.
Binz first joined the GSK team in 2024. GSK is a global biopharma company that unites science, technology and talent to prevent and treat disease through specialty medicines, vaccines and general medicines. The company focuses on core therapeutic areas like respiratory, immunology, oncology, HIV and infectious diseases, aiming to get ahead of disease by intervening early to protect people and support healthcare systems.
Binz is a proven global leader and mentor with a comprehensive understanding of the drug development process, particularly in relation to regulations and daily operations involving clinical research data and reporting. She combines knowledge, vision, interpersonal skills and business acumen to build strong internal and external professional networks that deliver efficient, high-quality solutions across functional lines.
Previously, Binz was vice president and head of clinical data sciences at Takeda. Before that, she was executive director and head of the Center for Data Standards and Quality at Pfizer. Earlier in her career, she worked with Biopharm, IBAH and Omnicare as a senior statistical data analyst.
Binz earned a master’s degree in computer science from Villanova University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Millersville.
