President Wubah Shares Message of Inclusion at Local Conference on ‘Encountering Disability’

Inclusive postsecondary education is not an abstract concept for us—it is a lived reality. Our Integrated Studies initiative stands as a testament to our dedication to inclusivity.

Millersville University President Daniel A. Wubah and wife Judith participated in sessions held on campus that were part of a series of events focused on community health and public policy, community inclusion and spirituality. Encountering Disability: Three Days of Community Building was organized by Saint James Episcopal Church of Lancaster, alongside sponsors including Millersville University and other community partners.

As part of the discussion, President Wubah shared a video and information on the University’s Integrated Studies initiative, which provides students with intellectual disabilities access to full-time, inclusive postsecondary education and an integrated residential experience. The goals of the program are to provide an opportunity for students to develop and enhance their social, academic and employment connections, as well as to develop their self-determination and self-advocacy capabilities.

“We strive to foster an environment where every student, regardless of their background or abilities, thrives and ultimately meets their education aspirations,” he says.
