A new group of Marauders are set to start classes at Millersville University on Aug. 25, 2025. Here’s a look at who they are, where they come from and what they’re studying.
NEW STUDENTS
8,445 students applied, and of those, 1,603 new students enrolled for the fall 2025 semester. That number includes first-year and transfer students. 1,040 students will live on or near campus in university-owned housing. 507 new students will commute to MU for classes. Move in for new students was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 21. Returning students will move in on Saturday, Aug. 23, and Sunday, Aug. 24.
FIRST GENERATION MARUADERS
This semester, 579 first-generation students will step foot on campus as the first members of their families to attend or graduate from college. Millersville University offers a number of specialized resources for first-generation students to ensure their success inside the classroom and out, including Ville First Gen; First-Gen Connect; Alpha Alpha Alpha; a first-generation honors society; First-Generation Forward Affinity Housing, a residential community for students; and a student organization called First Gems of the Ville.
STUDENT-ATHLETES
Coming fresh off the announcement that Millersville Athletics set a record with 244 PSAC Scholar-Athletes, making this the 10th consecutive year that number increased, MU will add 148 new student-athletes to its rosters.
WHERE ARE THEY FROM?
The fall 2025 incoming students come from 29 different states, with Pennsylvania as the number one state. New international students come to MU from a number of different countries, including China, Nepal, the Netherlands and more.
GPA AND MAJORS
Incoming students have an average high school grade point average of 3.48. Here are the top six majors they’ve chosen:
- Early childhood education
- Biology
- Psychology
- Business administration
- Allied health technology
- Applied engineering and technology management
“The start of the academic year is always exciting,” says Joni Klopp, senior director of admissions, “Our new students bring incredible energy, diversity, and promise to our campus community. Their unique stories and ambitions will enrich our classrooms and student life. We are thrilled to welcome them into the Marauder family and cannot wait to see the impact they will make.”

One reply on “The Class of 2029, By the Numbers”
We need to stop referring to incoming students in terms of a four-year time frame. Many of our students are transfer students or students with dual enrollment credits who will graduate before 2029. Other students will take a little longer – 5 or 6 years – to complete their degrees. Still others will leave and come back to the University. They are the Incoming Class of 2025, they may be one of several outgoing classes.
