Alumni Networking Reception Creates Evening of Connection

The event at Grandview Winery brought together alumni, Millersville leadership and faculty for a casual networking experience.

More than 50 alumni from the College of Education and Human Services enjoyed an evening of networking and an update from Dean Lara Willox at a special May 30 event at Grandview Vineyard in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania.

The evening brought together alumni, Millersville University leadership and faculty for a casual and relaxing networking experience in the enclosed pavilion at Grandview, where Rettew’s Catering provided hors d’oeuvres and the Vineyard shared samples of its wine.

Dr. Willox spoke to the audience about the partnerships established by the College and her collaborative work with several other academic departments. “Reconnecting with our alumni at this event was both inspiring and reaffirming. Their continued dedication reflects the heart of the University’s mission. I am deeply grateful for their contributions and proud of the ‘Ville community we have cultivated together,” noted Willox.

Along with alumni from the College of Education and Human Services (education, social work and psychology majors), Millersville University leadership and faculty in attendance included Dr. Debra Vredenburg-Rudy, Dr. Shawn Gallagher, Dr. Tiffany Wright and Dr. Jennifer Shettel, along with Vice President for Advancement Victor Ramos and staff from the Advancement Division.

Throughout the evening, guests spent time mingling and enjoying music played by Matthew Cleveland ’92 of Occasions Disc Jockeys, while sharing memories and connections. “Alumni from the College of Education and Human Services dedicate their lives to helping others, so giving them a night to relax, reconnect, and be celebrated was truly special,” says Josh Belice, Millersville University director of alumni engagement.

Celebrating the end of the academic year with fellow alumni and friends was a meaningful opportunity to raise a glass and create new memories together. At the conclusion of the event, guests were grateful for the opportunity to come together for a great night of building connections and lasting friendships.
