Counseling Psychology, a website devoted to providing educational resources for aspiring counselors and psychologists, has ranked Millersville University’s Social Work Online Degree Completion Program #2 in its 2025 Best Online Bachelor’s in Social Work Program listing.
“Millersville University’s Social Work Degree Completion Program is designed for students with prior college credits who want to complete their Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree,” the website says. “This flexible, online program combines academic coursework with field experience, preparing graduates for careers in social work and eligibility for advanced standing in MSW programs.”
Programs were ranked based on factors like flexibility, accreditation, affordability, and graduation rates. These programs offer the convenience of online learning while providing the rigorous education necessary to succeed in the field.
Focused on serving the community and meeting the demands of the workforce, the social work program is proud to offer a degree completion option within its undergraduate program, according to Karen Rice, professor and department chair of the School of Social Work. Since launching the option, Millersville University has graduated 59 students from the degree completion program.
“We are honored to have been recognized with this award,” she said. “Our option offers a flexible pathway to obtaining an undergraduate social work degree, meeting the needs of the adult learner.”
