Step On Up to Superfest CarniVILLE

Every year, UAB plans Superfest with a new theme in mind. This year the theme is a carnival.

Update: CarniVILLE Superfest 2023 has been moved indoors. It will be held in ‘Ville Courts in the SMC.

Finals week can be a stressful time for students as final tests and project deadlines loom. To help relieve stress and to congratulate students on finishing another semester, Millersville University’s Activities Board holds Superfest, an end-of-the-year celebration. This year, Superfest “CarniVILLE” will be held on April 29 from noon  – 5 p.m. in the SMC.

Every year, UAB plans Superfest with a new theme in mind. This year the theme is a carnival. Alexandria Frantz, Director of Administration for UAB, explains, “We will have a variety of inflatables and carnival games at Superfest this year. And of course, a carnival wouldn’t be the same without prizes! There will be a variety of stuff-a-plush animals, as well as other small items. Each student gets to pick their prize, but they must win big or trade in their smaller prizes to get the stuff-a-plush.” The event will also include mini golf, a rock climbing wall and an obstacle course.

The carnival will feature stuff-a-plush animals.

Superfest is free to students, and the first 500 students will be given free access to food trucks serving fresh homemade pizza, grilled cheese, loaded tater tots and a wide variety of sweet treats and pretzels from the Philly Pretzel Factory. MU catering is also providing cupcakes and rice crispy treats. To complete the event, UAB is collaborating with organizations on campus, including Campus Life and WIXQ.

Maddi Tintera, President of UAB, explains why Superfest is important. “Superfest has been a UAB tradition since the 90s. It is important to hold this event every year for students to get involved and engage with the campus community. It allows students to see that they don’t only need to be a student but can also be in a leadership position and plan fun events for students!”

Frantz recognizes that Superfest is meant to be a relaxing and fun time before the end of the semester arrives, “Since Superfest will be held the weekend before finals, it will be the perfect opportunity for students to clear their minds and to enjoy the last weekend of the semester. “

UAB is looking for volunteers for Superfest. All volunteers get free  access to the food trucks and will receive a  t-shirt and volunteer hours.
