Millersville Programs Rank Nationally

Millersville recently received recognition for Emergency Management, Education and Safety.

Millersville University recently received rankings for programs and departments across campus.

Best Online Master’s Programs in Emergency Management
When OnlineMasters.com released its list of the top 30 online master’s degree programs in emergency management this year, Millersville University was once again on the list. Since its creation, the program has consistently been ranked as one of the best in the country. MU ranked number 8 in the country and number 2 in Pennsylvania.

To be eligible for a ranking, a university must hold active regional accreditation and have at least one partially online master’s program in the ranking subject. Just 8 % of U.S. postsecondary institutions earned a ranking position.

“We are honored that the MSEM program is recognized as one of the best emergency management programs in the country. The MSEM program offers a unique blend of theory and practice. Our program faculty bring their strong theoretical knowledge and a broad range of applied experiences to their teaching of all the MSEM program offerings,” says Dr. Sepideh Yalda, professor of meteorology and the director of Center for Disaster Research & Education at Millersville.

Best Master’s in Gifted and Talented Education
Millersville University’s master’s in gifted education degree was ranked  #1 in the country for the second consecutive year by Intelligent.com.

This list focuses on graduate programs leading to a Master of Arts, Master of Science, or Master of Education in gifted and talented education. The name of the program changes from school to school, but the goal of each program is similar: educating teachers and administrators in working effectively with students who are academically gifted.

Programs were ranked based on flexibility, faculty, course strength, cost and reputation.

Best Bachelor’s in Special Education
Best Accredited Colleges has released their 2023 rankings, and Millersville University has been ranked#14 on their list Best Bachelor’s in Special Education Degree Programs!  

They created their guide and school rankings with student education in mind. They considered hundreds of institutions across the country and ranked Millersville University using data around financial aid awards, the quality of education, faculty, campus resources and more.

Best Bachelor’s in Education
Millersville University’s bachelor’s degree in education was ranked #50 in the country by Best Accredited Colleges. MU was the only school in the state of Pennsylvania to make the list.

The rankings include only accredited, non-profit schools. The list was created using the following criteria: financial aid, alternative tuition plans, tuition cost, retention rates, student-faculty ration, admittance rates, support and resources, dual, AP and transfer credit programs, loan default rates and graduation rates.

Campus Prevention Network Seal of Prevention
Millersville University received the 2022 Campus Prevention Network Seal of Prevention for its exemplary efforts to foster student safety, well-being and inclusion through online prevention programs. Fewer than 12 % of U.S. institutions have earned this distinction.

Launched in 2020, this rigorous standard for campus leadership rises from the many challenging dynamics in higher education today and distinguishes campuses using rigorous, high-impact digital prevention programs. The criteria for the CPN Seal of Prevention were developed from research-based best practices, translated into technology metrics and quality standards.
