Campaign Tops $100 M

The University’s “Imagine the Possible” Campaign Exceeds $100 Million with Historic Fundraising Milestone

Millersville University’s “Imagine the Possible” fundraising campaign is celebrating the historic milestone of exceeding $100 million in less than six years, in a campaign that began with a three-year goal of $32 million. As of Jan. 23, 2023, the campaign has raised $101.4 M, leading the “Imagine the Possible” campaign to become the largest fundraising campaign in Millersville University history.

In March 2022, the campaign surpassed its overall fundraising goal of $90 million, with more than a year remaining before the campaign’s conclusion on June 30, 2023. This extraordinary progress is another landmark achievement following the consistent theme of history-making accomplishments since the campaign began in 2017 as the first fundraising campaign in Millersville University history focused entirely on students.

“The campaign’s success has been made possible due to the overwhelming support from the generous Millersville University community of alumni, friends, current and former employees, students and parents, whose gifts have made a valuable contribution toward the campaign’s phenomenal progress,” says Dr. Daniel A. Wubah, president of Millersville University.

“Although this outstanding fundraising accomplishment marks an exceptional moment in the campaign, there is still a great need to continue to raise funds to support student success in the campaign’s final months. With the ongoing fundraising efforts, the campaign has the potential to transcend expectations and generate essential funding to allow Millersville University students to excel and succeed,” says Wubah.

The campaign fundraising priority areas include Scholarships, Student Learning Experiences, Marauder Athletics and Campus Revitalization. Throughout the campaign, the emphasis on supporting student success has provided tremendous opportunities for thousands of Millersville University students to participate in transformative experiences.

Campaign highlights include the creation of new scholarship endowments and awards and the record-breaking success of the annual One Day Give event. Due to the generosity of Dr. Samuel N. and Dena M. Lombardo, Millersville University has the first named college, the Lombardo College of Business. It will soon have a new home for the College of Business, the Samuel N. and Dena M. Lombardo Hall.

Additional highlights of the campaign include the establishment of the Wehrheim School of Nursing and scholarships for nontraditional nursing students through an estate gift of $4.8 million from Liselotte R. Wehrheim ’74; the first unrestricted athletic scholarship fund in Millersville University history and the largest gift in Millersville Athletics history from Lois Morgan ’54 toward the renovation of Biemesderfer Stadium to become the Morgan Athletic Complex.
