The Millersville University alumni office is now accepting nominations for the Marvelous Marauders program. The inaugural program will recognize 40 alumni members who have demonstrated dedication, professional achievement, excellence, and a commitment to staying engaged with Millersville University after graduation. Alumni are eligible for the nominations if they earned an associate, undergraduate, or graduate degree from Millersville University. The nomination form and materials are due by Feb. 10, 2023.
The Marvelous Marauders program was created in honor of the 40th anniversary of the institution becoming a University. In 1855, Millersville University was established as the Lancaster County Normal School, the first state normal school in Pennsylvania. In 1859, it was changed to Millersville State Normal School and Millersville later became a state teachers’ college in 1927. In 1959, It was renamed Millersville State College and officially became Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 1983.
The Office of Alumni Engagement hopes that these alumni success stories will inspire and motivate current and future alumni. The director of alumni Engagement, Kristin Schab, adds, “What we’ve been observing is that our alumni or doing some really great things and what a perfect time to highlight those alums and show prospective students that this is what you can do with a Millersville University degree.”
The recipients will be announced in the spring/summer of 2023 and the Office of Alumni Engagement will feature each Marvelous Marauder on social and multimedia channels.
