Chas McCormick, Millersville University alumnus, faced off in the World Series with the Houston Astros against the Philadelphia Phillies. McCormick was drafted by the Astros in 2017 and made his debut in 2021 against the Oakland Athletics.
The Houston Astros had an undefeated run in the postseason against both the Seattle Mariners and the New York Yankees. McCormick was no stranger to the plate. He hit a two-run home run reinitiating the “Chas Chomp” in Game three of the Division Series. In Game 5 of the World Series, Mccormick secured an essential win for Astros with his ninth-inning catch.
After a win in Game 6 of the World Series, McCormick and the Astros were named the 2022 World Series Champs.
