Eclectic Mix of Music Highlights Return of FestiVille

After a three-year hiatus, the annual FestiVille will return on May 1 on campus.

After a three-year hiatus, the fourth annual FestiVille will return on May 1. This year’s festivities will bring together seven bands from different genres of music, including Bluegrass, Country, R & B, Rock, Pop and World. Millersville University alums Big Fat Meanies, along with other bands from the Music Business Technology program, will also perform during a jam-packed day of performances, food and fun.

“This year’s event is going to be exciting because all the bands performing have either won or been nominated for the “Best Band or Group” at the 2022 Central Pennsylvania Hall of Fame Music Awards,” says Dr. Barry Atticks, Music Business Technology professor at Millersville University. “All money raised will benefit Ukraine through Church World Services.”

The festivities will take place in the Student Memorial Center at the ‘Ville Courts.  The doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and the first band will hit the stage at 2 p.m. The day will be capped with a special performance by the Femmes of Rock at 6 p.m. The Femmes of Rock show is a high-energy rock production fronted by four female violinists/vocalists.

FestiVille will feature international food trucks representing everything from Italian food, Mexican food, Middle Eastern food, etc. Also, for the first time ever, concertgoers will be allowed to leave the building to get food and bring it back into the event. There will also be an indoor beer and wine garden for those over 21.*

FestiVille is sponsored by the student club Marauder Music and the University. Tickets cost $25 for general admission, $10 with a college student ID and FREE with an MU ID. Tickets can be purchased at the SMC box office for MU students or online for everyone else.

*All alcoholic beverages must be consumed in the Beer Garden; you must be 21 and have a valid ID.
