Millersville University’s 10th annual Breast-a-Ville event, which raises awareness for breast cancer, will be held through a series of virtual and properly social distanced events on campus in 2020.
“Since the inaugural event in 2011, Breast-A-Ville has engaged students and the Millersville community in informative and fun activities to increase awareness about breast health and breast cancer,” said Dr. Dennis Denenberg. “We plan to do the same this year through our online events.”
The lineup of events includes the following:
- Oct. 1 -7, the fountains between the McNairy Library and Biemesderfer Executive Center will be pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
- Students, faculty and staff are invited to pick up a free pink mask at the Department of Campus Life in the Student Memorial Center in Suite 118, starting on October 1. The masks will be available while supplies last and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
- Stay tuned to Millersville’s social media accounts for a competition and giveaway. Students will be able to participate in an online challenge for a chance to win one of three $50 gift cards to the University Store.
- On October 2, the Ware Center will be illuminated in pink from 5 to 8 p.m. Step inside the lobby to view displays highlighting the importance of breast health and pick up information and giveaways from our breast health partners. This event is sponsored by the Breast Health Committee at Millersville University and the Diana’s Dreamers: Determined to Defeat Breast Cancer endowment.
