Want to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day? Share a statement that takes stock of all that has been accomplished to respect and protect the environment during the past 50 years and/or offers hope for a sustainable future. Those who submit statements will be entered to win one (1) $20 gift certificate from Millersville University Store, which is open online. The contest is only open to students, faculty and staff of MU. Winners will be contacted directly by the University.

Here how you can contribute:

1. Prepare a statement of hope or reflection that is less than 250 characters.
2. Send to sustainability@millersville.edu by Monday, April 20.
3. Include your name and title or major (if desired).
4. Optional: Provide a headshot or other image to include with your quote.

Statements can be personal expressions or quotes from others, but please include author attribution (example: “I see in my students the passion and ability needed to solve the environmental challenges of today. We need only continue to equip them with the right knowledge and tools.”)

50 statements of hope will be posted to Millersville’s Earth Day 2020 website on April 22.
