Michael Shirk, Chief Executive Officer of The High Companies will deliver the keynote address.

Millersville University will hold its undergraduate commencement on Dec. 15 in Pucillo Gym at 2 p.m.

Michael Shirk, Chief Executive Officer of The High Companies will deliver the keynote address. The High Companies is the largest private company in Lancaster County and one of the biggest companies in Central Pennsylvania. He assumed his role in 2015 following several years of serving on the High Board of Directors.

Shirk holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bucknell University, a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management.

Andrea Shirk, will receive an Honorary Doctorate at Millersville’s undergraduate ceremony.

Andrea Shirk, will receive an Honorary Doctorate at the ceremony.  She is the General Manager of Rock Lititz and has held that position since January of 2013. For the past 10 years, Andrea Shirk has served on the Board of Directors and as a committee member for several non-profit organizations in Lancaster, Pennsylvania including Lancaster Family YMCA, Clare House, United Way, Lancaster County Community Foundation and the American Cancer Society, where she was the Legacy Ball co-chair.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University and a master’s in Engineering Management from Drexel University. In addition, she has obtained her Six Sigma Black Belt.

Michael and Andrea Shirk have two children and live in Lititz.
